Awesome information about A/B Testing/results of newsletter

In this blog post, I will give you a journey about A/B Testing,  a blog post, and my group’s newsletter. Some of this information will give you a good insight about different types of software and limitations that my group had with this newsletter. You will be amazed about what winter activities there are in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

A/B Testing

What is it? – A/B Testing is a controlled experiment that is comparing two versions of a web page to see which one is better.

Why do it? – We do it because we want to see which one gets the better conversion rate.

How in you software? – 1. We used a blank template. 2. We put the information that we found and what pictures we found in the template. 3. We all proofread it. One of us sent it to Shelly to look it over and see what we need to improve. 4. We got Shelly’s notes back and made corrections to the it. 5. We sent out the new one to a list of people that Shelly gave us.

Plan – 1. Figure out what we want for our newsletter. 2. Brainstorm some ideas of what we want to put in our newsletter. 3. Pick out 10 activities to find information about. 4. Each of us got 3 topics and looked up stuff for the activities for our newsletter. 5.We decided to use mail chimp. 6. We put all of our information that we gathered into a mail chimp template.

Limitations – 1. Time – (longer) 2.  # of participants 3. Knowledge=>interpretation and statistical skills 4. Preference vs. Behavior/1. We can probably gather data from the a/b testing next week to see how many clicks we get from our newsletter.  2. I think we will have a very good number of participants for our newsletter.  3. I think that we have a couple of people that can do those things for our newsletter.  4. We might have people more people that prefer our newsletter rather than the behavior towards our newsletter.

Results – For the  Western Marketing Program #1, we got 5 opens between 9 – 11 am. It was steady at 2 opens from 11 – 12 am and 6 – 7 pm. It was also steady at 1 open from 8 – 9 pm and at midnight. The open rate for the Western Marketing Program #1 is 37.5%. For the Western Marketing Program #2,  we got 1 open between 3 – 5 pm. After 5 pm, there were no opens. The open rate for the Western Marketing Program #2 is 20%.
